This website was established with the purpose of bringing resources to people who are seeking reliable and helpful information about topics dear to our hearts. Topics - touching on life issues that affect us all, such as: finances, insurance, work and budgeting.

I applied for and received my first credit card at the age of 19.  It was a Nordstrom credit card and I thought it was so cool to be able to walk into the store and buy the clothes I wanted and I didn't even need any cash to do it.

Of course, I began applying for other credit cards, and after a while, my credit card monthly payments soon totaled more than my monthly paycheck. I spent many years not being 'money responsible'.

After the euphoria of enjoying my credit cards wore off, I was in deep financial trouble. I didn't have any choice - but to devote years of my life learning how to budget so I could faithfully write out a check each month and pay my bills. Then I had to spend a few more years building up my good credit, which had been lost due to me going shopping - instead of paying the bills.

In the months to come, you'll find articles written by me sprinkled throughout this site. I want to let people know that credit is a good thing, but you must be wise about it and you must know how to manage yourself and your finances. Good Credit cannot be 'purchased'.

Cycles can be broken. Each of us has our own 'cycles' - mine was growing up and never learning the 'value of a dollar'. I never had to save. My parents would always buy me what I wanted, just so I would stop bugging them. Not the best way to raise a child. They aren't prepared for the 'real' world. They have no idea why things don't work the same as when they were a kid.

For those of you with negative credit histories, you can turn that situation around.
