We’ve been told over and over again: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. High-pressure brokers and pitches, high-costs commissions, promises of overnight riches and guaranteed gains plus portfolio protection are examples of danger signals that you should be wary of. Trading secrets that are being sold for thousands of dollars would be kept a secret if it can actually generate that amount of income.
Be especially careful of brokerage firms that have lax requirements as they are not the best candidates for delivering professional services or the highest quality research. Most experts agree anyway that a substantial amount of money is needed to build positions.
