New York Times Losing it's Standards?

A news piece published in the New York Times titled “Misgivings Spoil Plans of Start-Up” is in the center of a strong debate as to the editorial and professional standards of this prestigious newspaper. The article, uses the topic of a current IPO basically to bash businessman and philanthropist Armand Rousso over a well publicized and known criminal background. In a response on his blog, Armand Rousso attacks Saul Hansell, the author of the piece for basically stearing away from the Times’ high level technology and business coverage simply as a stage for slander (which is completely irrelevant to the item in focus).
