Food is a primary need but just like any other aspect of our daily life, we can save money by making wise purchases on what we eat. Good budgeting is always an admirable trait.
To save money on food, why not plan ahead on what you need at home. If buy by bulk like for a week’s use, you will surely spend less instead of buying convenience food.
Use coupons and do spend time clipping them from your weekly newspapers. Organize them by type so when shopping time comes, it will be easy for you to take out the ones you will need.
Go for the store brands or the so-called generics. National brands are really of good quality but they’re often more expensive. But if the store brands are just of equal quality, do consider them as they’re less expensive.
When items you regularly use are on sale, don’t hesitate to buy more stocks for future use.
Try to canvass the prices of several grocery stores near your place before buying. Surveys have shown a 10 to 15 percent difference on grocery orders at two different stores in the same location.
