CNN published an article today titled 4 gas-saving myths. According to the article, such widely believed myths such as purchasing special “gas saving” additives and turning off your air conditioner don’t actually save a noticeable amount at the pump and just aren’t worth the effort.
The article does suggest a few tips for saving a the pump including maintaining proper tire pressure (which is an important safety measure as well), removing excess weight from your car and maintaining proper road speed.
Another measure we’ve discussed here on the site before is the use of a special gas credit card which offers rebates or cash backs on gasoline purchases. You can view our selection of gas credit cards here.
