Establishing a Business Presence

Following our small business management series this week, we would like to address the difficult task of establishing your name and building a business brand. Branding can be one of the toughest challenges early-stage companies face and there are a few approaches to take depending on the type of business, size of the business and your budget.

The problem with traditional branding is that it usually is just plain expensive and takes a long time. In order to ensure customers recognize your brand and get familiar with your company they must be exposed multiple times to your brand. The internet can help with the process sine companies can focus their branding efforts to very specific target audiences creating brand recognition among a niche target and not wasting advertising money on a wider general population. Trying to target a larger audience can often result in a diluted campaign and not give enough exposure per potential customer to make an impression.

In addition to getting your brand out there, you must also make sure your website is accessible and visible to your potential customers. After all, nothing says more about a company than appearing at the top results on search engines for relevant keywords. Getting more website traffic from search engines involves a process called search engine optimization which requires certain modifications to your website to target certain keywords. There are many companies offering website optimization services that can do the work for you in a professional matter. Think Big Websites is a top website optimization firm which utilizes a large range of tools to promote your website and build a company bran.
