One of the most frustrating institutions to deal is a credit bureau. People with limited or poor credit can definitely relate to the aggravation involved with trying to "convince" the credit bureau you have good or even any credit history and the torture involved in applying for a new credit card.
An ironic but often situation is for a consumer to try to apply for a credit card only to be declined due to too having too little history on their credit report. The bureaus are looking for some transactions to establish a score. Only the consumer finds himself in a catch 22 situation since he can't generate these transactions since most operations (such as issuing a credit card) require a certain credit score to get approved…
There are solutions to consider though. Many card issuers offer special credit cards for customers with poor or no credit history. Typically these cards would require some sort of deposit to secure the credit line (secure credit cards) which can sometimes be considered counterproductive since you aren't really getting a credit line and are basically recycling your money. However these cards are an excellent way to build your credit history allowing consumers to get out of the frustrating cycle of declined applications and poor credit history.
