With the ongoing depreciation of the dollar against virtually every currency, U.S. investors are seeking overseas alternatives for their savings. The week dollar along with the emerging economies of certain developing and developed countries has brought many U.S. investors to put their money towards managed real-estate projects in places like Morocco, Spain, Dubai, Romania and Brazil.
Although the natural deterrent from overseas property investments exists due to the investors distance from the property, in most cases this isn’t a real obstacle since arrangements can be made to have local property management without the investor worrying about having to rent off the property himself from overseas. The best way to go about such an investment is through property investment companies who excel in this process and arrange all aspects including scouting for profitable projects, arranging the original sale, tenanting, maintenance services and tenant services.
As with any investment though, always make sure you are well diversified and never allocate more than 20% of your portfolio to any one vertical no matter how profitable or promising it may be.
