It’s tax time again and many people are getting their refunds. What’s good about this is that refunds are about six percent more this year. So far, almost 39 million taxpayers have availed of their refunds from the IRS amounting to $102 billion.
If you were to compute this, each taxpayer gets an average of $2,650 worth of refund.

It’s natural for some people to splurge the money they get but it’s best not to waste all of it. You can just spend half of it and spend the rest for paying more important things. Do something right that will benefit your life and finances.
Make an IRA contribution by filing for your refund online and having it deposited directly to an IRA, a Roth IRA, a SEP IRA (this is for self-employed people), a health savings account or an education savings account. This is the first time the IRS is allowing the direct deposit scheme.
Use your refund for your personal development. You can take a short course, enroll for a year at a gym, donate to a charity or pay for a basic estate plan.
You can also change your withholding and begin setting aside an equal amount into your savings or you can pay your debt or mortgage for the whole year.
